(2015-May 31-June 2) Muriel Lake and the Goethe Cirque. Sierra National Forest, California.

Early season hike up Piute Canyon and over the Pass in great time!!! Camped near a small frozen tarn near Muriel Lake. Woke early and climbed Peak 12,240' near Murial Peak and Alpine Col for some great views of the Humphreys Basin and beyond. Made my way back down from the mountain and visited the Goethe Lakes and then trudged through snow (waist deep in places) and made it back to camp in the afternoon. A beautiful lenticular cloud had formed over Mount Humphreys just in time for sunset. Woke early the next morning, captured some sunrise shots nearby and headed back out. Great trip!!
